How to solve the ball screw noise problem?

●Analyze the reason

The noise fault of ball screw may be caused by the following reasons：

①Poor lubrication or impurities inside the ballnut;

②Ball ballnut internal raceway or ball screw shaft raceway damaged;

③Poor installation;

④ball screw concentration or circle runout is large or ball screw bend;

●Solution

①Loosen and unscrew the dust-proof seals at both ends of the ballnut,inject lubricating oil with viscosity lower than ISO32(the lower the viscosity,the better)into the ballnut filling hole to clean the ballnut,reciprocate for several times within the effective stroke,and then inject lubricating oil or grease with viscosity between ISO32~68,reciprocate for several times,and perform the second step if the noise does not improve.

②Clean and observe whether there is damage to the ball screw raceway,If there is no damage,we can remove ballnuts:First with the hollow sleeve provided by the supplier(if there is no can make a hollow sleeve with an outer diameter slightly less than the ball screw path,inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the shaft end)set on the shaft end,and then slowly screw out the ballnut,check whether there is damage at both ends of the ballnut recirculating circuits,if not,remove the ball(warning:Not recommended without prior experience)Thoroughly check whether the raceway inside the ballnut is damaged.If not,perform step 3 after installing the ballnut.

③Retest and install the parallelism between the ball screw and the guide,the installation of the end bearings of the ball screw and the concentricity of the bearing ends of both ends.Use the straightening machine to straighten the ball screw. If the noise is still the same,perform step 4.

④Ask your supplier for repair services or consult a professional.
