The maintenance of cross roller guideways mainly includes the following aspects:

1. Daily Cleaning  

Regularly wipe the surface of the guideway with a dedicated cleaning cloth or soft paper to remove dust, oil stains, metal chips, and other contaminants. Avoid using chemical-based cleaners to prevent corrosion of the guideway surface.  

In dusty environments, increase cleaning frequency. When necessary, disassemble the guideway for thorough cleaning to ensure no foreign objects remain between the raceways and rollers.

2.Lubrication Maintenance  

Select appropriate lubricants—such as lithium-based grease—based on the guideway material, operating environment, and load conditions. Apply lubricant regularly to the guideway surface and roller contact areas to form a uniform oil film, reducing friction and wear.  

Lubrication intervals should be determined by equipment usage frequency; high-frequency equipment may require weekly or monthly lubrication, while low-frequency equipment can have longer intervals.

3. Fastener Inspection  

Periodically check screws, nuts, and other fasteners to ensure they are securely tightened and free from loosening. If looseness is detected, tighten or replace the fasteners promptly to prevent deformation or damage caused by vibration or impact.

4. Precision Inspection  

Use professional measuring tools (e.g., laser interferometers, levels) to regularly inspect precision parameters such as straightness, parallelism, and perpendicularity of the guideway, ensuring compliance with equipment requirements.  

If deviations exceed allowable tolerances, adjust or repair immediately. Replace the guideway if necessary to avoid compromising machining accuracy or operational stability.

5. Wear Inspection and Component Replacement  

Regularly inspect rollers and guideway surfaces for wear, checking for scratches, dents, cracks, or other damage. Replace rollers or guideways promptly if severe wear or irreparable damage occurs.  

Check whether the cage is deformed or bent; if issues are found, replace the cage or the entire guideway assembly.

6. Environmental Protection  

Install dust covers, dust-proof cloths, or bellows guards around the equipment to minimize contamination from dust and debris.  

Ensure the equipment operates in a dry, well-ventilated environment. Avoid moisture exposure; in humid conditions, use desiccants or heaters to reduce humidity.  

By implementing these maintenance practices, the service life of cross roller guideways can be effectively extended, ensuring the precision and stability of equipment operation.
